Baytown A&M Mother's Club
November 2, 2006 Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Ruby Branham,
President.
The prayer was led by Mary Ann Gaylord.
The program was presented by Jennifer Ford, Assistant
Director of Student Life. She provided members with an overview of the
services provided by her department.
The minutes were reviewed. Peggy Robertson made a
motion to accept the minutes. Darlene Duhon seconded. The minutes were
approved as written.
The treasurer’s report was reviewed. Ending balance
was $5,262.98. Betty Rice made a motion to accept the report. Gloria
Graves seconded. The report will be filed for audit.
Membership reported two new members – Debbie Busch
and Marilyn Kingman. We have 52 members.
A suggestion was made to change the date of the
Christmas Party. After discussion, it was decided to hold it on the
original meeting date of December 7. Gift exchange limit is $20. Mary
Ann Gaylord suggested making a donation instead of a gift. Ruby Branham
suggested that we exchange an ornament and make a donation to a
charity. Betty Rice made the motion to do an ornament exchange and give
money to be put back in scholarships or campus organizations. Mary Ann
Gaylord seconded. All agreed. The party will be at Ruby Branham’s, 226
Rollingwood Circle, on December 7 at 6:30. Bring an ornament and your
favorite snack. Drinks will be provided.
Sharon Jeffery reported on fundraising. The Gig ‘Em
signs have made $525 this month. Debbie Casey and Linda Couch moved the
signs on the east side of town. Darlene Duhon volunteered to try them
in Anahuac.
The Star Bazaar is November 18 from 10 – 4 at
Sterling High School. A sign up sheet was passed around for workers.
Debbie Lochridge has the table reserved. The school will open at 7 AM
to set up.
A donation of $120 was made from the Tastefully
Simple October meeting. Thank you, Mary Ann Gaylord.
The changes to the Standing Rules were reviewed.
Number 9 was added. A motion was made to approve the Standing Rules by
Gloria Graves. Sharon Jeffery seconded. The motion was approved.
Five members attended the Aggie Mom Retreat the last
weekend in October. All had a great time. Ruby Branham reported on
some of the activities and encouraged members to plan to go next year.
Aggie Moms’ Night Out will be November 14 at 6:30 at
El Toro’s on Garth Road.
Aggie Brags were given by Peggy Robertson and Marilyn
Kingman.
Ruby Branham read thank you notes from Kristen West,
Lori Rollo, and Cody Robertson.
Pocket money was won by Alyssa Holmes and Alexandria
Pyle.
Elisa Holmes shared that the Austin Aggie Moms were
selling an ATM silver bracelet if anyone was interested.
Ruby Branham shared information that she and her
family will be moving to the northwest side of Houston. She will
continue to come back for meetings and correspond by email.
Mary Jane Parker made the motion to adjourn the
meeting. Peggy Robertson second. The next meeting will be the
Christmas Party on December 7, at 6:30, at Ruby Branham’s.
