Baytown A&M Mother's Club
April 5, 2007 Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Ruby
Branham. The prayer was given by Dena Trice.
Members reviewed the minutes from the March1, 2007,
meeting. Linda Couch made a motion to accept the minutes, and Sharon
Jeffrey provided a second. The minutes were accepted as written.
Debbie Lochridge presented the treasurers report.
Mary Jane Parker made a motion to accept the treasures report and it was
second by Cindi Foster. The treasurer’s report was accepted as written
and will be filed for audit.
Program
There was no official program at this meeting. A
game was played throughout the meeting to learn more about the members.
Jan Novosad had each member write down something about themselves that
others members would not know but they wanted to share. Throughout the
meeting comments were read and the members would try to determine which
members wrote the comment. We learned many new facts about our members
that were not previously known.
Fundraising
Outback Steakhouse tickets have not been received
for distribution. Becky Erickson will email the club when the tickets
are available and arrange for members to pickup. The club will have 200
tickets for sale.
Ruby Branham sent David Evans an email to confirm
date and place for annual Fish Fry / Howdy Party. The date is July 21,
2007 and the location is TBA. David has arranged for Reveille, Yell
Leaders and a football coach to attend the meeting. He has also
approved the Aggie Moms to once again have a silent auction. Members
are encouraged to start collecting items for the auction. Gloria Graves
will check with Benjamin Knox for prints.
Saturday April 28th has been designated
at Aggie Mom Night at Minute Maid Park. Astros tickets are being
offered at a discount on their website. If you order your tickets from
the website and use the Baytown Aggie Mom password, the club will get
$2.00 for each ticket sold under our password. Flyers were given out to
members to distribute to their friends and family that might want to
attend the ballgame.
Important Dates
- Parents Weekend will be held April 13-15
- Aggie Muster will be held April 21
- Baytown A&M Club Golf tournament is May 19th.
- Aggie Mom Retreat will be held November 9, 10,
11 at the Hilton Hotel in College Station
Old Business
Gloria Graves, Kay Stephens, Darlene Duhon and
Tommye Sandlin attended the District VI meeting in Bay City on March 17,
2007. They gave a brief overview of the meeting and Darlene shared that
she won an Aggie Mom charm as a door prize.

Cindi Foster volunteered to take the unfilled
position of Third Vice President for 2007-2008.
Jan Novosad gave update on the May banquet. The
meal will be catered by Antonio’s for $13/per person. The deadline to
order dinner tickets is April 26th.
Linda Couch gave update on Goody Bags that are
scheduled to be delivered to students on April 30 between 10 – 2. April
5th was deadline to collect money for goody bags. A sign up
sheet was passed around for members to sign up to bring items to add to
goody bags and also help assemble the bags. Bags will be a stenciled
cinch backpack. They will be assembled at home of Janet Traylor – 209
Rollingwood Cirlce on April 29th @ 4 p.m.
New Business
Kathy Thompson, Chairman of the Scholarship
Committee indicated that she, Janet Traylor and Linda Couch had met and
selected the recipients of the 2007-2008 high school graduate
scholarships. Kathy announced the recipients as Shikah Yadav from Lee
High School and Katie Diane Bertrand from Anahuac High School.
Ruby Branham reviewed last years donations by
Baytown Aggie Moms to TAMU organizations and received input from club
members for 2007 donations. The club will again donate $600 to the
following organizations:

Betty Rice made motion to accept donation
organizations as noted. The motion was second by Darlene Duhon. By
unanimous vote the list of donations for 2007 was approved.
Aggie Brags were shared by Ruby Branham, Cindi
Foster, Tommye Sandlin, Dena Trice, Kathy Thompson and Betty Rice.
Pocket Money was won by Tori Trice and Cory Couch.
Each received $6 spending money.
Mary Jane Parker made motion to adjourn meeting.
Motion was second by Jan Novosad.
