Baytown A&M Mother's Club
February 1, 2007 Minutes
The prayer was led by Dena Trice.
Valentine refreshments were enjoyed by 22 members
present.
Ruby Branham called the meeting to order. Ruby
reported the speaker at the January meeting from the Traveling Aggies
was informative. The program for tonight will be playing BUNCO at the
end of the meeting. The members were asked to provide Gloria Graves
with the valentines they brought to mail to the Baytown Aggies and our
adopted Aggies.
Members reviewed the minutes form the January 4, 2007
meeting. Terry Gaines made a motion to accept the minutes. Peggy
Robertson seconded the motion. The minutes were approved as written.
Debbie Lochridge, Treasurer, presented the
treasurer’s report. The Federation dues of $51 have been paid. The
scholarships for the spring semester have been funded, a check for $4500
was sent to the Financial Aid office at Texas A&M. Jan Novosad made a
motion to accept the report and Janet Traylor seconded the motion. The
report will be filed for audit.
Dena Trice, First Vice President, reported the
membership has remained the same as the last report.
Third Co-Vice Presidents, Mary Jane Parker and Sharon
Jeffrey, reported the Outback fundraiser will occur. The Howdy Party
will include a silent auction again. The Aggie Moms need to be thinking
and procuring items to use at the silent auction to raise funds for the
scholarships. Remember the Aggie Mom necklace opportunity to win is
ongoing through May.
Old Business

Ruby reported on the Federation Meeting held
January 13th in College Station.

The District VI Meeting for our club will be
March 17 and the Baytown Club will needs to provide two door prizes
and the Invocation. The members who wish to go need to let Ruby
know by Wednesday, March 7. The tickets are $17.
New Business

Ruby explained the nominating committee, Dena
Trice, Peggy Robertson,

Debbie Lochridge, and Mary Jane Parker, met
Tuesday, January 30, and have a slate to present. Peggy Robertson
read the slate of officers.

The nominating committee is searching for a
member to be the Third Vice President in charge of fundraising. The
vote will be in March.

Ruby Branham reported that Kathy Thompson has
sent information to the high schools within the Baytown Aggie Mom’s
club area for graduating seniors to apply for a Baytown Aggie Mom
Scholarship. Kathy Thompson, Linda Couch and Janet Traylor are the
members of the Scholarship Committee.

Debbie Friermood has resigned as Secretary, and
Peggy Robertson has volunteered to fill in the Secretary
responsibilities for the remainder of the spring meetings.

Gloria Graves will mail the Valentines to the
Aggies represented by our club.

Janet Traylor and Linda Couch volunteered to
coordinate the spring final Goodie Bags to be delivered Monday,
April 30.
Announcements:

Parents weekend will be April 12 -14.

Ring Crests will be presented at the May meeting
and monies will be collected at the March meeting.

Dena Trice mentioned that a UH campus recruiter
will be speaking at Maranath Church, Feb. 25 from 5 – 8 P.M. on
grants and scholarships. She invited the Aggie Moms to attend.

The March meeting will be at Maranath Church.

Ruby read a thank you note from Alex Pyle for the
pocket money she received from the January meeting.
Many Aggie Moms shared numerous Aggie Brags.
Pocket money was won by Craig Jeffrey and Andrew
Thompson.
Joyce Broyles made a motion to adjourn and Jan
Novosad seconded.
The members adjourned to play BUNCO and continue
enjoying refreshments.
