The Music of Aggieland
The music and songs of Texas A&M are
performed by the famous Texas Aggie Band. The fight song is the
"Aggie War Hymn," which was written by J.V. "Pinky"
Wilson while standing guard on the Rhine with the AEF during World War I.
"The Spirit of Aggieland" is the school song. It was
written in 1925 by Marvin H. Mimms, a student, and the music was composed
by Col.Richard C. Dunn.
Aggies also sing at home football games,
the official song of the state of Texas, entitled, "Texas, our
Texas."
